We all know that it's important to eat your fruits and vegetables. Most of us are making an extra effort to have a few salads each week. I think eat pretty well (except for my oldest daughter Israel's chocolate chip cookies and Saturday am coffee, of course). I eat at least one fruit meal a day, I try to have a salad, snack on fruits and vegetables and eat as much raw food in a day as I can. After all of that good food why would I choose to take a green food supplement? I have several reasons:
- I live in Kansas City, MO. The season for fresh, organic, local produce is pretty slim here. Even in winter I'm still getting green vegetables, but the quality is not what it should be to provide the nutrition I'm looking for. If I eat till I'm full I'm still not getting enough good green nutrition! I take AIM's BarleyLife® year round, so I'm supplementing my diet with BarleyLife in the off season and building up my body during the peak season.
- Taking BarleyLife is cheaper than eating 9 servings a day of organic green vegetables. A friend estimated that the cost is five times as much to eat nine serving of organic green vegetables each day. I pay $17 a month for Barley.
- I can't afford to get sick! Even in a thriving economy I can't afford to have down time, doctor visits, prescriptions and the toll that getting sick takes on my body! In the past two years I've had one minor cold. I've spent plenty of time around sick kids, family members and co-workers. Before supplementing with the Barley I had my fair share of time being sick (3-4 colds or flus per year).
- I'm nursing a baby and that takes a lot of energy from my body. Right now my body's first priority is to feed my baby. It will prioritize that over any other requirement. By supplying my body with proper nutrition I'm really giving myself and my baby a big advantage. Havah has never been sick and is the healthiest baby I've ever seen. Using the BarleyLife provided:
- High quality, fatty breast milk
- Abundant milk supply
- A quick recovery from birth
- High quality, fatty breast milk
I don't think any of these factors would have been as significant (especially in those first few months) without the supplementation of BarleyLife.
I'm not a big fan of vitamin supplements. I think most of them end up passing right through your body into the toilet. If you are taking a vitamin that is not plant based it is pretty hard for your body to assimilate the vitamins and minerals that are in that little pill. In addition, you are also potentially putting a strain on your organs. The best source of vitamins and minerals is plants. God perfectly designed fruits and vegetables to provide nutrition that our body can get proper nutrition from and properly digest.
There are a few good companies that make a green food supplement. After price and quality comparison I am convinced that AIMs BarleyLife is the highest quality for the best price. Here's a paragraph from the AIM website:
AIM BarleyLife® is an all-natural, green barley juice concentrate that helps provide the daily nutrition you need to develop a strong foundation for your good health. The power of AIM BarleyLife® is found in the nutrients of young barley leaves. Research has found that green barley juice is abundant in enzymes, essential amino acids, and is rich in antioxidant ability, anti-inflammatory activity, immune system support and cholesterol lowering effects. The result is a feeling of total wellness!
Here is my dilemma; I believe in the concept behind this product. I believe in the benefits both for myself, and some incredible stories of people I know. I also realize the weird dynamic of a "Network Marketing" company/product. I believe the benefits far outweigh the difficulties, and encourage you to investigate these kinds of options for your own health.
